Reading List

Reading is very essential for entering the fashion industry. It is so beneficial being able to know the most you can about designers, styles, trends and general culture.
It is such an amazing feeling when your having a conversation and have the ability to express the knowlegde you carry about the fashion world. Well for me, I love reading about fashion, its not just about catching up on our favourite editions of fashion publications but yes about exploring further into biographies, websites and factual fashion books. Below is my current pile of books that I am currently reading. Check them out, and I recommend all of them, seriously!

To Porto and back

Dear Readers,

I sincerely apologize for the lateness of this post but you can't even come to imagine how busy I have been with work and university assignments that are due in.
I got back from Portugal on Friday evening, it was a nice relaxing 2 days back home. I saw friends, past lovers and enjoy the Portuguese air, truly relaxing. However the 2 days went so fast which was disappointing but however is better than not going at all I guess.
I didn't manage to take many photos since on the first 2 days the whether wasn't so good. However here are some of the photos that I did take, just for you to take a glimpse of where I come from.

Enjoy,

Yours truly,
Mickey Boots

Off to Portugal

The time has finally come for my return to my beautiful country which I love dearly; Portugal.
I have everything packed and am ready for take off! My outfits are planned out, accessories and make up ready and cameras and phones charged; couldn't be more organised! Let's not forget the moment important of all, the passport; which might I add is already in the handbag also.
I'm only going for 2 days, but I guess that is better than nothing of course. I am flying out on TAP Portugal and coming back to London with Ryanair. I promise that I will take a lot of photos so when I come back I can post them on here and let you know about my short trip back home.

My sunnies are packed, let's hope there's some sunshine and book prepared for the flight. Oh and of course my seductive red lipstick, can't forget that one. (YSL)

My beautiful pumps are ready for walking, a lot of it! Taking them along with me because they are so comfortable.

Also taking my small camera for those nights out with friends. Of course I will take my Canon SLR to capture the better moments.

Unfortunately this time I won't be taking my laptop therefore I wont be posting abroad but I promise as soon as I'm back I'll post all those amazing moments spent in the beautiful city of Porto and my home town also, so keep reading guys and I shall see you Friday evening.

Yours truly,
Mickey Boots

Bank Holiday Shopping

As you have probably noticed by now, I'm a bit of a shopaholic, well it's true I'm addicted! Today I managed to get myself up early and head to Bicester Village; an outlet village in England. I had actually never been before today and I believed it was a nice experience. I went with my best friend Becca and her mum and sister. It was a lovely morning of shopping and I managed to get myself some bargains.
Bicester Village is such a cute little place, please go and visit if you ever get the chance! For those of you in London, you can just get the train from London Marylebone and it only takes 45 minutes.
Originally I wanted to get myself a Prada purse from the discount village but unfortunately
the one I wanted wasn't there, oh well I guess there's always next time.
Below are the photos of my purchases, enjoy!

I only bought some goodies from Cath Kidston and Polo Ralph Lauren because I didn't find anything else that caught my eye. The lovely weekend bag above from Cath Kidston caught my eye straight away, I loved it and its perfect for weekends away.

More goodies from Cath Kidston: a luggage tag and a case for my Sony camera. These were bought in order to prepare myself for the big move to Barcelona on the 4th February! Literally can't wait!

Last but not least this lovely Ralph Lauren sweater which is so comfortable and warm. A must for this season.

Cath Kidston weekend bag - £40
Cath Kidston luggage tag - £3.50
Cath Kidston camera case - £5
Polo Ralph Lauren sweater - £39.99

Well that's today's post, keep tuned in for more posts this week. Might as well mention that I am off to Portugal on Wednesday for 2 days! So excited!

Yours truly,
Mickey Boots

English Rose

The last day of 2011 was spent in good company and in a great location; Windsor. A city full of English heritage and of course beautiful. Yesterday I decided to go for a stroll and maybe a little bit of shopping also with a special friend, well my best friend; Becca. I just love Windsor!! Its so relaxing to go for a stroll alongside the river and then later do some shopping in the high street and might as well while Im there visit Windsor Castel. So much to do in such a small town. I must admit it was a good ending to 2011.

Today's outfit was a mix of casual plus chic; a comfortable yet trendy combination with some essential accessories.

Chelsea boots: a must have for winter! If you dont have a pair, go shopping immediately. Mine were only £36 from Topshop and for those of you that hold a valid student card then you get a further 10% discount, so worth it!

Accessories always manage to make any outfit stand out that little bit further. I love rings, I consider them to be my favourite type of accessory.

My beautiful best friend Becca to whom I thank the amazing company to.

Why not stop for a hot chocolate and cupcake in style?

And finally but not least the historical Windsor Castle. In fact a lovely day, let's hope 2012 brings me and all you beautiful people of the world even more amazing days. But remember to make sure you spend them in style!

Yours truly,
Mickey Boots
